Pompton Lakes is a
suburban community in Passaic County, NJ. with great municipal parks and
playgrounds for all to enjoy. Pompton Lakes is bordered by the Pompton, Pequannock and Ramapo
rivers and is part of the the highlands preservation area. The state park,
Ramapo Mountain State
Forest, is located at the northern edge of Pompton Lakes, has many
activities you can enjoy: hiking, fishing, horseback riding, canoeing,
and much more. There is a central downtown
business district that hosts restaurants, retail stores
and businesses. It is a pleasure to causally walk and window shop, stop in
one of the great restaurants and have a great meal. Pompton Lakes even has its own public
access cablevision TV station for its residents to obtain information on
upcoming events and activities.
Visit the USS Maine Memorial at Triangle
Park, Joe Louis Memorial Park (named after the famous boxer), or the 400
year old Pompton Furnace.
